The Posthumous Aural is an installation and performance that explores the link between the transformation of human remains and the economy of death through aural space. The vibrations of non-living matter occupy a suspended space of mourning, signalled by the absence of language. Revisiting the figure of the Spanish plañidera, The Posthumous Aural is a sonic act of inquiry into the material and cultural representations of the body-object, as well as the necropolitical and spatial consequences of its accelerated conversion into a commodity.
